The Puget Sound Partnership’s Leadership Council will meet from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, in the Commencement Bay conference room at the Center for Urban Waters, 326 E. D St., Tacoma.
Meeting highlights include:
- Consideration of a resolution proposed to integrate incentives with the use of minimum buffers to protect water quality, shellfish and salmon.
- An update on the Estuary and Salmon Restoration Program’s investment plan.
- Review of the Puget Sound floodplains report and an update on Floodplains by Design project proposals.
- A presentation on findings from the independent review of the Puget Sound Ecosystem Monitoring Program’s governance by the Ruckelshaus Center.
The Leadership Council will also spend Thursday, July 10, in an all-day council work session to look at strategic priorities and agency work for the next two years.
The Leadership Council is the governing body of the Puget Sound Partnership. These meetings are open to the public and all are welcome to provide comment and learn about the regional effort to restore and protect Puget Sound.
