Three hundred and one cowboys and cowgirls took to the Enumclaw Expo Center rodeo arena over the weekend despite Saturday’s rain to buck, tie down, and rope their way toward finals in September.
While Plateau local Krystal Pennington, a breakaway roper, did not place in her event, her success at the Port Angeles rodeo last weekend brought her up from rank 11 to rank 9 on the Top 12 of those going to Salem, Oregon, on Sept. 20 and 21.
But she’s not locked in yet, as she’s first got to compete in Roy and Monroe.
