Reality House invites parents of teenagers

The Rainier Foothills Wellness Foundation is hoping to educate parents about about how to talk to their kids about the dangers of alcohol and drugs.

An event aimed at educating parents of teenagers is planned for March 29 at the Enumclaw Fire Department headquarters.

The third annual “Reality House” event will consist of 30-minute sessions running from 4 to 8 p.m. at the fire station, 1330 Wells St. in Enumclaw.

It’s a free event, co-hosted by the Foothills Drug Free Coalition and the Enumclaw School District. Other partners include: Rainier Foothills Wellness Foundation, Enumclaw Fire Department, police departments in Enumclaw and Black Diamond, and Imagination Theater Productions.

Attendees will have an opportunity to walk through real-life teen party scenes, then receive a de-briefing with first responders and specialists who are often first on these scenes when they go wrong. It’s intended that parents will leave with resources to have healthy discussions at home.

Registration is requested: online at www.rfwellnessfoundation.org or by phoning 360-802-3206.

Teens 13 and older are welcome to attend if accompanied by an adult.
