OFFICER ASSAULTED: On May 7, officers responded to the vicinity of state Route 165 and the Foothills Trail and an incident involving a reckless driver. During the investigation, officers detained a man for possession of a legend or prescription drug. The man then attempted to assault officers and fled on foot. He was captured approximately a quarter-mile from the original location and was arrested for obstructing. It also was found he was wanted on a felony arrest warrant and had lied about his name. He was booked into Pierce County jail for third-degree assault and obstructing a public servant.
BURGLARY: Police were told May 3 an unknown person had entered a vehicle storage area of a state Route 410 business. A vehicle was damaged and items were stolen.
CASH TAKEN: A Buckley man called police May 2, reporting someone had used his debit card to take cash from his account.
ARREST WARRANT: Due to a lighting violation, police stopped a female motorist shortly after midnight on May 1 on state Route 410. She was driving with a suspended license and, after it was discovered she was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant, she was booked into jail.
LICENSE SUSPENDED: Officers responded the afternoon of May 1 to a collision on a roadway on property owned by the state of Washington. It was determined one of the drivers had a suspended license and no auto insurance. She was arrested and released at the scene. The case was forwarded to the city prosecutor for review and possible charging.
