Applications for requesting a new intradistrict transfer between elementary schools in the White River School District, or a request to transfer an out-of-district student into the White River School District, will be available beginning April 5.

Parents or guardians wishing to request their elementary-age student attend a school other than their home school, are asked to complete an Application for Intra-District (or Out-of-District) Student Transfer form and return it to the district administration office, 240 North "A" St., P.O. Box 2050, Buckley, 98321, before June 11. Forms are available by contacting the district office, at each elementary school office or at the district Web site at www.whiteriver.wednet.edu. The district will be processing requests based on the return date of the application, the space available at the school requested, and the grade level of the student. The district will be contacting parents by mail by the end of June to advise whether the request can be accommodated.

Parents of out-of-district students are encouraged to enroll their students in their home district as an alternative plan in case the White River district cannot accommodate the request. Out-of-district transfer requests must be accompanied by a release of attendance from the resident district.

Any requests for elementary intradistrict or out-of-district transfers received in the district administration office after the June 11 deadline will be processed after the first week of school.

Middle School Transfers

Student attendance for Glacier and White River middle schools are based upon the student's resident elementary school. Students whose residence would normally have them attending Wilkeson or Foothills elementary schools will be attending White River Middle School. Students whose residence would normally have them attending Elk Ridge or Mountain Meadow elementary schools will be attending Glacier Middle School.

Intradistrict and out-of-district transfer requests may be submitted from April 1 to April 23. Those wishing to request their middle school student attend a school other than their home school can complete an Application for Intradistrict (or Out-of-District) Student Transfer form and return it to White River Middle School, P.O. Box 2180, 27515 120th St. E., Buckley, 98321. Forms are available by contacting White River Middle School or visiting the district Web site at www.whiteriver.wednet.edu.

Requests will be processed based on the return date of the application, the space available at the school requested, and the grade level of the student. The district will be contacting parents by mail by the end of May to advise whether or not the request can be accommodated. Requests received after the April 23 deadline will be processed on a case-by-case basis.
