A fundraiser supporting the Bonney Lake High School senior class and the Bonney Lake Senior Center raised more than $2,200 Friday night.

The final amount collected was not available at press time.

The money will be split between the two groups with half going toward the BLHA graduation celebration and half going to the senior center’s van fund.

The event, a spaghetti dinner followed by bingo, was hosted by Swiss Park.

“It was an extraordinarily successful event,” said Senior Center Executive Director Sue Hilberg.

The BLHS Safe and Sobor Grad Night is a parent-sponsored event that provides high seniors with an opportunity for a safe, drug- and alcohol-free celebration with all-night entertainment.

The Senior Center van is againg van. The cost of replacing the handicapped-accessible vehicle used daily at the center is estimated between $60,000 and $70,000.

Funds for a replacement are not in the budget.w

Hilberg thanked the volunteers for their time and said the night was the “most fun I’ve ever had at a bingo event.”

“Let’s do it again!” she said.
