For those off from school, however, the snow became a reason to go out.

For Elaina Robison, 7, who with her sister Maren, 11, and mother Kristin were building a companion for a snowman they found at Allan Yorke Park, the snow makes up for her missing the Thanksgiving week storm because she was recovering from her tonsils out.

By afternoon, roads were mostly clear and wet.

There is a 50 percent chance of snow showers through Wednesday afternoon, tapering off by 10 p.m. with a total daytime accumulation of one inch possible.

Overnight lows are predicted to drop into the mid-20s, but little new snow is expected by morning. Thursday should be mostly sunny with a high near 37.
