Snow expected this evening

The National Weather Service is predicting rains showers turning to snow after 10 p.m. tonight. Snow levels are expected to be around 900 feet.

After a couple of more seasonal days of rain and milder temperatures, the snows could be returning to the Bonney Lake area tonight.

Chance of precipitation is 60 percent and an accumulation of up to one inch of snow is possible. Overnight lows will be in the low-30s.

Snow showers are expected to continue Sunday with highs in the upper-30s. An additional half inch of snow through the day is possible.

The clouds are expected to begin to part Sunday night with mostly cloudy skies and a low around 26 turning to mostly sunny skies and a high of 35 on Monday.

The city of Bonney Lake offers the following tips for driving in snowy conditions:

Drivers heading out on the roads should drive carefully and remember that glaze- or black-ice is difficult to spot until after you lose traction. On icy roads it is even more important to leave extra space between your car and others, and drive slowly. If you find yourself sliding:

• Take your foot off the gas pedal

• Don’t slam on the brakes

• Turn your wheel in the direction of the skid
