Crystal Mountain, WA – Crystal Mountain received it’s first trace of snow last night which is a good reminder that winter is just around the corner. The temperature dropped to 30 degrees overnight at the top of the mountain, and up to an inch of snow could be seen at the 6,800 foot elevation.
Last year Crystal Mountain opened for 100 lucky skiers and snowboarders on Oct.1. That was the earliest opening in the resort’s history. Opening day for the 2014/15 season is still to be determined. A minimum of two feet of snow is necessary before the resort can open.
