The Sumner High football squad will be treating its fans to an unanticipated, bonus 10th encounter or extra showing this Friday evening, Nov. 4 beginning at 7 p.m. at Sunset Chev Stadium versus the Klahowya High Eagles out of the Olympic League.
In the event that the injury-plagued Spartans didn’t have any post-season action on their agenda for this coming Friday, it was pre-determined that they would lock horns with some 2A grid crew out of the Olympic League to be named later and that turned out to be Klahowya High.
Sumners aspirations for second season participation were officially doused last Friday when a play-off bound White River contingent poured a bucket of water on the fading embers of SHS play-offs hopes, soundly thrashing Sumner 30-7 on the Spartan’s turf, dropping the purple and gold’s SPSL 2A mark to 2-5 and a 3-6 record overall.
