Ballots for the spring special election are due today, Tuesday.

On the ballot is a measure to form a Bonney Lake Metro Park District, a junior taxing entity responsible for the maintenance and expansion of city parts.

Also on the ballot is a measure to annex the City of Milton into East Pierce Fire & Rescue. East Pierce already serves the city through a contract with the municipal government. Milton residents and residents already within the fire district’s footprint must both approve annexation by popular vote for the measure to pass.

Ballot drop boxes and voting centers at the linked locations, including the Bonney Lake Park and Ride and the Sumner Library, will be open until 8 p.m.
