The City of Sumner and Sumner Parks and Forestry Commission is joining the Sustainable Forestry Initiative in a world record tree planting event.  On May 20 at 10 am, Sumner will join over 40 other locations across North America to break the world record for most trees planted in one hour simultaneously in multiple locations by groups of 25-100. (How’s that for a very specific record?)

Sumner will be out planting trees in the new park area off the Sumner Link Trail off 142nd by the White River Bridge.  If you or your employees want to help, please let us know so we have an accurate number count.  We’ll report how it went in the E-Community Connection.

Sumner has long been dedicated to trees and recently celebrated its 21st year as a Tree City USA.
