Sumner city council will solicit public input Monday on whether to extend annexation negotiations on unincorporated Pierce County land by six months.
The area planned for annexation is a small space of land by the city sewer treatment plant, City Administrator Diane Supler said. An annexation will allow future planned development to occur through the city’s permitting process, as opposed to the county’s.
The hearing will begin at 7 p.m. in the council chambers, 1104 Maple St.
