The annual Pancake Feed, hosted by the International Association of Firefighters Local No. 3520, will be held from 7 a.m. to noon, Saturday,  at the fire station in Sumner, 800 Harrison St.

The cost is a $3 donation. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

East Pierce Fire and Rescue firefighters, fire commissioners and local dignitaries will be flipping flapjacks and serving ham, coffee and orange juice while Santa talks with all the good little girls and boys.

A silent auction, featuring items donated by local businesses, will be available during the event.

The money raised benefits several, local charitable organizations, including the Sumner Family Center, a program that provides support and services to families living within the Sumner School District. Last Christmas, the firefighters were able to purchase gifts for 600 needy children identified by the Sumner Family Center.

The firefighters will also be collecting nonperishable food items for distribution to local food banks.

Following breakfast, head over to Main Street for the annual Santa Parade, which gets under way at 2:30 p.m. to see the big guy make his official entrance to the city, just in time for the holidays.
