Sumner City Council members unanimously adopted a resolution authorizing Mayor Dave Enslow to sign an agreement with firm Transpo Group during their regular meeting March 15. With an offer of $32,000 for its services, Transpo Group was the low bidder; the company previously worked with Sumner on a transportation analysis in 2002 and 2004.

Among its tasks, the group is to evaluate and document transportation impacts of expansion on the urban growth area and the land use plan. Land use alternatives are not confirmed, but are in progress and may include retail, office, industrial, recreation and residential development.

Under the agreement to be signed by Enslow, Transpo Group will complete the work by Dec. 31.
