Sumner resident Amanda Knight, 21, is one of the four suspects involved in the April 28 home invasion and robbery in Edgewood which resulted in the shooting death of 43-year-old James Sanders.
Knight surrendered to Sumner police at 5:30 p.m. May 4 and police turned custody of her over to Pierce County Sheriff Department.
Sumner Police Department Administrative Manager Jason Wilson said minimal contact and conversation with a suspect is maintained in a case of this magnitude until the suspect is turned over to the presiding authorities.
Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney Mark Lindquist charged Knight and three others with several counts including murder in the first degree.
Knight entered a plea of not guilty.
