SWAT called in for DV arrest in Cumberland

The standoff between the man and deputies lasted about four hours.

King County deputies had a standoff with a man at a Cumberland-area home for several hours last night before he was arrested for felony domestic violence.

According to the King County Sheriff’s Office, first responders received a 911 call at 9:55 p.m. on July 31 about an in-progress court order violation in progress in the 35200 block of 312th Way SE in Unincorporated King County; the caller reported there was a male family member present who had been served a no-contact order.

After deputies arrived, the subject — whose name has not yet been made public — declined to exit the house when ordered, so the county’s SWAT team came onto the scene (the other people involved had already been evacuated from the home).

The standoff lasted until 2:15 a.m. on Aug. 1., when the subject was arrested and booked on felony domestic violence charges.

As of 9:30 a.m., it did not appear that any booking information about the subject was immediately available. This is an ongoing investigation, and more information will be published when it is made available to the public.
