Swatman, Lewis have comfortable margin

Updated results – posted Saturday from the Nov. 3 general election – show Dan Swatman with a 74-vote margin over Andy Gomen for the Ward 1 seat, while Donn Lewis has a 104-vote margin over incumbent Dave Bowen for the Ward 4 post.

Swatman leads Gomen 368-294, while Lewis is ahead of Bowen 310-206, according to results posted Saturday afternoon.

Randy McKibbin won the council at-large Position 1 seat, collecting 66 percent of the vote over Lynda Dabson. McKibbin received 1,842 votes to Dabson’s 899.

Mayor Neil Johnson, running unopposed, got 2,532 votes.

In Pierce County Fire District 22, Ron Scholz is the winner for the Commissioner No. 5 seat. He received 57 percent of the votes, defeating Dick Willner.

Raymond Bunk III, Karlyne McGinnis and Mike Cathey ran unopposed for the Commissioner No.1, No. 2 and No. 3 seats, respectively. All three received more than 98 percent of the vote.

Countywide, challenger Julie Anderson defeated incumbent Jan Shabro for county auditor with nearly 50 percent of the vote. Shabro had 41 percent and Will Baker received the rest.

Results will be released at 5 p.m. daily through Nov. 24, excluding weekends and holidays. Results are unofficial until the election is certified.
