Deputy Mayor Dan Swatman announces his plans to seek council seat
Councilman and Deputy Mayor Dan Swatman announced he’ll seek election as the council representative for Ward 1 on the Bonney Lake City Council
Swatman has been an integral influence on the council in moving to control growth, limit taxes and fees, provide for essential services while protecting the community’s livable identity character.
Swatman was quoted saying
“I have chosen to live in Bonney Lake because of the natural beauty and community character of the city; I will work to ensure Bonney Lake remains a highly desired and respected city for all its citizens,” said Swatman.
Swatman is a key council member facilitating council cohesion and he has been chosen to serve as Deputy Mayor by his peer council members several times.
After eight years of serving the citizens, Councilman Dave King decided not to seek election for Ward 1.
Swatman resides in Ward 1.
“Running for Ward 1 council member allows anyone to run for council at-large, this significantly increases the opportunities for citizens seeking election to the city council,” Swatman said.
While acting as a current council and chair of the Finance Committee, Swatman captured several million dollars in grant funding for sidewalks and Fennel Creek trail improvements. Dan Swatman is also a member of the Lake Tapps Task force and is active in the community as the Treasure for the Local Little League association.
