TEEN TROUBLE: Police heard of a group of teenagers sitting in the road in the vicinity of Willow Drive at 5:15 p.m. July 30. They were reportedly yelling obscenities and refusing to leave. Five male teens were admonished and told to leave. Four trespass notices were issued by management of the private neighborhood.
CONSTRUCTION SITE: Police were told July 30 of a theft from an unsecured construction site. There were no suspects or leads. A request was made for extra patrol during evening hours.
WEAPON SHOWN: A subject was arrested and booked the morning of July 29 for the unlawful display of a weapon and disorderly conduct. The person had been waving a knife and telling profanities at people in the 1000 block of Griffin Avenue.
PASSED OUT: Police were asked July 29 to check on the welfare of a man passed out in front of a local business. He woke up and stated he had been drinking and needed a ride home. Police discovered he was wanted on an arrest warrant issued by Adams County officials. He was not to be extradited but was instead instructed to contact Adams County authorities. He was then given a ride home.
TEEN COMBAT: Police were called July 29 to assist emergency medical personnel who were tending to a male juvenile with a head injury sustained during a fight with another juvenile. The victim was evaluated and released to the care of his brother. The victim declined to press charges.
THREE PROWLS: Police were told July 29 a laptop computer and clothing were taken from a vehicle parked in the south lot at the Enumclaw Expo Center. A vehicle prowl was reported July 28 by a resident of Southeast 448th Street. The previous evening, someone had entered a vehicle and taken $100 in cash and a topaz ring with an estimated value of $500. A Hansen Street resident told police July 27 approximately $300 worth of women’s clothing had been stolen from a vehicle the previous evening.
HARASSMENT: Police took a report July 28 from someone claiming to the victim of harassment by a Roosevelt Avenue business owner. After officers spoke with other business owners in the vicinity, it was determined the man who filed the report was instigating the trouble. Officers told him he was no longer welcome to hang around the building was to stop making inappropriate comments to customers exiting or entering the business.
YOUTH FIGHT: Police responded to the city skate park the afternoon of July 27 after hearing of an altercation between two 9-year-old boys. The situation was initially settled with an apology made by the suspect to the victim. Later, it was learned one of the boys suffered a broken bone in his hand during the altercation and police were asked to take an assault report. After checking with witnesses, it was determined to be a case of mutual combat. No police action was taken but a parent was advised of civil options.
DISTURBANCE: A caller notified police at 1:30 a.m. July 26 of a woman yelling at someone to get away from her. Police responded to an Initial Place address and wound up taking two people into custody – a man was booked on a Maple Valley arrest warrant and a woman was arrested for obstruction.
FRAUD INCIDENT: A woman told city police July 26 she had received a fraudulent check in the mail. When she had attempted to cash the check, she was advised it was part of a common Internet scam. She was advised to contact the King County Sheriff’s Office, since she resides in county jurisdiction.
ASSAULT: Officers responded at 10:12 p.m. July 26 to a disturbance on Wells Street in from of the police station. Investigation resulted in the victim of an assault being arrested for driving under the influence. The suspect in the assault was cited and released.
CHILD WELFARE: A child was found the afternoon of July 26 in the vicinity of Semanski Street and Warner Avenue and returned to a parent’s care. Information was forwarded to the state’s Child Protective Services for follow-up.
