THEFT FROM AUTO: A Watson Street resident notified police the morning of July 5, reporting miscellaneous personal papers and a GPS device were taken from an unlocked vehicle.

FIREWORKS: Police were kept busy before and after the Independence Day holiday, dealing with people who were either getting a head start on setting off fireworks or couldn’t bear to see the festivities end. On the Fourth itself, officers were hopping; in more than 20 instances, they wound up confiscating fireworks. There were a few instances where complaints were made but fireworks were of the legal sort and set off during legal hours. Police responded to more than 20 complaints on the Fourth where people were celebrating a bit too long, going past the acceptable hour.

WORRIED MOTHER: A woman contacted police the afternoon of July 3, wanting it noted that a neighbor was taking pictures of her children. Options for a restraining order were discussed, but there was no criminal violation at the time.

STOLEN VEHICLE: A patrolling officer spotted a stolen vehicle at 2:42 a.m. July 3 in the vicinity of state Route 410 and Mountain View Drive. Buckley police contacted the registered owner, who was going to retrieve his vehicle. City police contacted a suspicious female in the area who wound up arrested for possession of stolen property and resisting.

REDBULL THEFT: An officer responded the afternoon of July 2 to a Roosevelt Avenue address after hearing that a man left a business without paying for two Redbull drinks. He fled on foot to a nearby fast-food restaurant but could not be located.
