Officers were called May 13 to a report of a burglary. The reporting party told officers an unknown person entered the business through the roof, pointing to the broken ceiling tiles around the business.

SHOPLIFTING: Two officers responded to a possible shoplifter at a local grocery store on May 13. The female suspect was seen by loss prevention employees gathering five pairs of tennis shoes in a bag and then proceeded to try to walk out the front doors. When approached by one of the employees, the suspect ran away. One of the officers noticed a female matching the same description as the shoplifter inside a restaurant who then ran into a restroom when she saw the officers. The suspect was handcuffed and put in the police car and agreed to speak with the officers. She then admitted to shoplifting. One of the employees identified the suspect as the shoplifter. The merchandise, which is worth $293.47, was returned to the store. The suspect was issued a criminal citation for theft and was given a May 25 court date.
