Tonight, the Bonney Lake Police Department and East Pierce Fire and Rescue will visit two neighborhoods for the National Night Out Against Crime.
The first visit will be made to Sky Island Park, where neighbors have organized for an ice cream social to begin at 5:30 p.m.
The public safety caravan will move on to Debra Jane Park at 6:30 p.m. The Lake Jane Homeowners Association has organized a hot dog barbecue.
Both stops will include clowns, face paint, and an opportunity to meet city officials, police officers, firefighters and their emergency vehicles. Bonney Lake Panthers cheerleaders, McGruff the Crime Dog, and Sparky the Fire Dog will also be present.
The National Night Out is a nationwide awareness campaign for local police departments and their efforts to prevent drug crime and other crimes. It is sponsored by he National Association of Town Watch.
