ODD BEHAVIOR: At 4:10 a.m. July 25, city police assisted the Washington State Patrol in locating subjects who had been using flashlights to flag down motorists and ask for water. They were looking for two subjects who were walking a dog. Police made contact on Semanski Street and learned the subjects were walking home.
CONCERNED: A caller told police July 25 of a woman sitting in a car and acting odd; the fear was the woman had been drinking. Police contacted the woman on Washington Avenue and sought medical aid. The woman was transported to the hospital.
JUVENILE PROBLEM: A patrolling officer spotted two juveniles hanging out behind a city grocery store at 1:17 a.m. July 24. Police contacted parents, who advised the juveniles should not be out. The parents responded and picked up the young people.
NO CHARGES: A caller told police July 24 of a domestic disturbance in the vicinity of Battersby Avenue and Cole Street. Officers made contact and determined there had been an assault between two men. The victim was hesitant to make a statement and agreed to respond to the police station if he wanted to press charges. He did not arrive at the station.
TWO ARRESTED: After responding to a noise violation in the vicinity of Battersby Avenue and Wells Street shortly before midnight July 24, an officer found two women who had been drinking. During the contact, both females became combative so they were arrested and taken to the station for booking.
HARASSMENT: A citizen arrived at the police station the morning of July 25, complaining of a known subject who has been harassing the victim by driving past the victim’s home and workplace. The victim was advised of available options, including a court order.
CAMERA THEFT: Someone reported July 23 a camera had been stolen while the victim attended Creation Fest at the Enumclaw Expo Center. The victim believes he saw the stolen item posted on Craigslist. Police were investigating.
TRAFFIC STOP: Police were alerted the afternoon of July 23 to a possibly-intoxicated driver. The vehicle was located and stopped by a State Patrol trooper and the driver was cited for negligent driving. Due to the driver’s unusual behavior during the stop, medical personnel were notified. Both the driver and the vehicle were eventually released to the driver’s girlfriend.
MEDICAL TRANSPORT: Police responded at 4 p.m. July 23 after hearing of a person lying on a sidewalk in the vicinity of Griffin Avenue and Fell Street. Aid was summoned for an evaluation and the subject was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital.
NO CHARGES: Police took a report of an assault at 4:45 a.m. July 23. The incident occurred at a Grand Fir Drive address. The suspect departed prior to an officer’s arrival. The victim declined aid and did not want to press charges.
BUSINESS FLOODED: Police assisted the city’s water department at 10 p.m. July 22 when water was seen rushing from the front door of a Cole Street business. An officer confirmed a room was flooded and water personnel shut off the water supply. There was no immediate success contacting the business owner.
PEACOCK COMPLAINT: A Florence Street resident called police July 21, complaining of a flock of peacocks roaming the neighborhood. An officer attempted to contact the owner of the birds, but no one was home. The owner was to be advised of an ordinance regarding the housing of nondomesticated within city limits.
BUCKLEY ASSIST: Enumclaw police, acting upon a July 21 request by the Buckley department, transported a female to St. Elizabeth and later returned her to the Buckley jail.
ON THE RUN: Enumclaw police were told July 20 by Puyallup police to watch for a man considered to be armed and dangerous. He was last seen fleeing pursuit in the Renton area and was wanted on robbery and eluding charges. The “third strike” felon was said to be armed with a handgun.
IN CUSTODY: A man was taken into custody July 19 on arrest warrants issued by the Kent Police Department. Total bail was $12,800, cash only. The man’s child was turned over to a friend and the suspect was turned over to Kent authorities.
NO SOLICITING: Police were told July 19 of a man going door-to-door in the Michael Avenue vicinity. If no answered the door, he would stand in the yard, holding up a sign. He was contacted by an officer and told to stop soliciting until he obtained a business license.
HARASSMENT: A woman told police July 19 she was being harassed by a former employer at her new place of employment. The suspect had reportedly made numerous calls to the woman and driven by her workplace several times. The suspect was notified by phone and told to halt the activity. The source of the harassment was confirmed as a civil issue.
VEHICLE FIRE: Police assisted the fire department July 19 with a vehicle fire at a Chinook Avenue address. The fire was extinguished and the vehicle was allowed to remain until the following day when the registered owner could get it moved.
BURGLARY REPORT: A Chinook Avenue resident told police July 19 of a burglary that occurred about 3 a.m. while residents were sleeping. A wallet and keys were taken and several items were reportedly moved.
THEFTS FROM AUTOS: A female victim told police July 19 her vehicle had been entered while she was at work. The auto was broken into while in a Griffin Avenue parking lot. A video camera was reported stolen and the victim was to later provide a complete list of missing items. The following day, a chain saw valued at $1,000 was reported stolen from the back of a truck.
TRYING TO BURN: A citizen called police July 19, reporting two males were attempting to set fire to the grass in a field. Police responded to the area of Warner Avenue and Watson Street where one subject was taken into custody and later booked for reckless burning.
DOG ATTACK: An officer responded July 19 to a report of a dog bite at a Weatherbee Lane address. It was determined a pit bull had gotten off a leash, severely injured another leashed dog and bit a person who had to seek medical attention. King County Animal Control responded.
