UPDATE: School grounds have been cleared by the bomb squad. Staff will return for a planning day but students have already been sent home. As the investigation continues, police request any one with suspect information to contact Bonney Lake Police Department (BLPD).
“The police have thoroughly searched Bonney Lake High and there is no threat or danger … in every case we have had a bomb threat, we have identified the student/s involved and have followed the discipline policy. We have no tolerance for bomb threats and regret the instructional time lost and the inconvenience and disruption caused by inappropriate student behavior,” said Sumner School District Superintendent Sara Johnson.
BLPD announced at approximately 9:45 a.m. via Twitter, that a bomb threat was found at Bonney Lake High School.
The school has been evacuated and students are released for the remainder of the day. Bonney Lake Police Department is conducting a search with the assistance of a Pierce County Sheriff’s Office K9 bomb dog.
