VEHICLE PROWL: A Lafromboise Street resident reported Aug. 2 that a vehicle had been prowled the previous evening. Nothing was taken and there were no immediate suspects. Several items of mail were left at the scene and were turned over to the local postmaster.
TOSSING MELON: A Lafromboise Street resident complained to police at 1:49 a.m. Aug. 1 that people from a neighboring home were throwing things at their house. Contact was made with all parties and it was determined that kids had been throwing watermelon at the neighbor’s house. They were counseled and the activity was to cease.
SHOPLIFTING: An officer responded at 2:01 a.m. Aug. 1 to a report of a shoplifting incident at a Monroe Avenue business. The suspect was arrested, booked for third-degree theft and ordered to stay away from the store.
DOG BITE: A man told police Aug. 1 he was bitten by a dog while riding his bicycle in the vicinity of 244th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 448th Street. He had no major injuries, but was concerned that the dog had bitten before. Officers could not locate the dog’s owners and forwarded the issue to King County Animal Control.
BIKE STOLEN: Police were told the morning of Aug. 1 of a man walking in and out of traffic in the vicinity of Porter Street and Davis Avenue. The man then took a bicycle from a yard. He was located, still in possession of the stolen bike. The man was arrested for theft and the bike was returned to its owner. The man was later released after posting $500 cash bail.
