Warrior Dash attracted an estimated 8,000 runners, plus their family and friends, to Kelley Farm on Saturday, where athletes completed a 5K slogging through mud, crawling under barbed wire and jumping over fire among other obstacles.
The Dash, one of many similar runs put on across the continent by Red Frog Entertainment, attracts seasoned athletes and relative novices alike, said race director Matthew Robinson.
One group of racers from the dental office of Jeffrey Kanter prepared through a boot camp fitness class.
“It was great,” said first-time racer Shannon Groom. “Nice and dirty, just how we like it.”
Groom said she would “absolutely” compete again.
