Wastemobile returns to Enumclaw

Here’s a chance to get rid of some of your hazardous household materials.

King County’s Wastemobile is hitting up Enumclaw the first weekend of June.

It’s a chance for local residents to safely dispose of their household hazardous waste, including alkaline batteries, car batteries, fire extinguishers, gasoline, motor oil, propane tanks, and more.

The Wastemobile will be parked at the Enumclaw Expo Center from June 1 to June 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Residents cannot bring computer monitors, contaminated soil, fireworks or other explosives, light bulbs, televisions, tires and more — check online at www.hazwastehelp.org/HHW/whattobring.aspx for what you can and cannot dispose.

Business waste is also accepted from conditionally exempt small quantity generators (SQGs). For more details and to find out if you qualify as an SQG, contact the business waste line at 206-263-8899 or see the website for more details.

Proper handling and transportation of hazardous waste can reduce the chance of accidental spills. For your safety and the safety of the Hazardous Waste Program staff, please:

  • Don’t mix products.
  • Keep products in original containers.
  • Label products not in original containers.
  • Secure products so they won’t tip over and/or leak.
  • Store products away from the passenger compartment of your vehicle and keep them separate from items you wish to keep.
  • Stay in your vehicle during unloading.
