House Bill 2127, Second Engrossed Substitute House Bill 2127, making supplemental operating appropriations for the 2011-13 biennium, passed 54-43 in the House on April 5, 2012.

Numerous amendments were also adopted on the floor, but a current fiscal note is not yet available. This bill contains an emergency clause and takes effect immediately upon signature by the Governor. This bill will now be referred to the Senate for further consideration.

House Bill 2565, Second Engrossed Second Substitute House Bill 2565, regulating the operation of roll your own cigarette machines at retail establishments, passed 65-32 in the House on April 5, 2012.

This bill requires retailers providing roll-your-own cigarette machines to collect the state cigarette tax. This bill will now be referred to the Senate for further consideration.

House Bill 2822, House Bill 2822, concerning local sales and use tax account deposits and distributions, passed 82-15 in the House on April 5, 2012.

This bill requires the department of revenue to make deposits in the local sales and use tax account on a monthly basis on the last business day of the month in which certain distributions are due. This bill requires the state treasurer to determine the amount of earnings on investments that would have been credited to the local sales and use tax account if the collections had been deposited in the account over the prior month. This bill will now be referred to the Senate for further consideration.

House Bill 2828, Substitute House Bill 2828, concerning support obligations when an application for subsidized child care is received, passed 97-0 in the House on April 5, 2012.

This bill removes the requirement that the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) or the Department of Early Learning take action to establish or enforce child support obligations when it receives an application for subsidized child care. This bill will now be referred to the Senate for further consideration.
