Alice McCauley

Alice Mae McCauley died July 26, 2024, at the age of 86.

November 11, 1937- July 26, 2024

Alice Mae Qualls McCauley was born on November 11, 1937. She married her high school sweetheart, Dale, and they spent 65 wonderful years together. Alice was a deeply loved mom by her three children, the best Nana her eight grandkids could have asked for, and a precious great-Nana to her great grandchildren. She spent most of her life in Enumclaw, but also lived in Libby, Montana. She quickly became a Montana girl through and through, and never really got over the people or the mountains from that beautiful place.

Alice was sure to be at her church anytime the doors were open–leading or singing in the choir, or keeping tabs on her closest friends. When she wasn’t at church, Alice could be found supporting her grandkids. She bought homecoming dresses, gave rootbeer floats for good grades, and sat through countless music recitals. She was also a faithful football fan. She once left a grandson’s game with an injured arm after accidentally being too close and was brought into the tackle from the sidelines. All throughout her life, she prayed for her boys, the Seattle Seahawks (who, she assured us, all loved the Lord and must have been His favorite as well).

After retiring from her work in the insurance business, Alice and Dale loved to travel to Hawaii, Branson and other places that brought her near people she loved. She was a dedicated prayer warrior and follower of Jesus. Everyone who knew Alice was assured of her love for them feeling always safe and cared for.

Later in her life Alice enjoyed talking about her connection to her Native American roots.

Alice died peacefully on July 26 after singing some of her favorite hymns with Dale and Melodee. She will be dearly missed, but we know she is singing hymns with Jesus now and smiling at us all as she sits with her daughter Kathy who passed away in 1994.

Alice is survived by her husband Dale McCauley, daughter Melodee Bunn (Tim), son Rob McCauley, brother Frank Qualls (Lea), grandchildren Hilaree Fish, Remington Smith (Ivey), Savannah Inglis (Jason), Kaylee Sevier (Jordan), Dale McCauley Jr, Joshua Bunn (Caitlin), Sarah McCauley, Colton Bunn (Emily) and several great-grandchildren and loved ones.

Please share a memory of Alice on her tribute page at weeksfuneralhomes.com. A celebration of life will be happening later in the fall.
