Alison was born in Vancouver BC, Canada on August 2, 1947.
She passed away from cancer on February 27, 2023 at the age of 75 at her home in Black Diamond, Wa.
Alison grew up in Burnaby, BC. She worked in a bank before going into nursing school in Vancouver General Hospital in Vancouver. She also worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Vancouver.
In 1976 she moved to Black Diamond, Washington after getting married to the love of her life, Doug Stern. She also worked at Auburn General Hospital and then at Benson Heights Rehabilitation Center in Kent.
She & her husband were in Foster Parent Care for
3 years and then she began working at Western State Hospital in Steilacoom, Wa.; where she retired after fifteen years.
Alison loved Black Diamond and working as a volunteer at the Black Diamond Historical Society Museum and being a member of the (TOPS) Take Off Pounds Sensibly, Black Diamond chapter. She had great friends from both.
Alison is survived by her husband, Doug, son Bryce (Sara), granddaughter Addyson, grandson Rocky, and brother David (Jennie).
Celebration of Life will be held later this spring.
