Ann Leah Gibson (née Rose) died peacefully in her home in Buckley, Washington on May 21, 2023. Ann was born on July 25, 1937 in Ellensburg, Washington to Charles Jesse and Maxine Florence Rose. She graduated from Enumclaw High School in 1955 and from nursing school at Tacoma General in 1958. After retiring as a registered nurse of 42 years, she devoted much of her free time to her community. She was a long-time resident of Buckley and FHS volunteer. She was a member of the Woman’s Music & Literary Club and Friends of the Buckley Library. She loved to sew and quilt, and collaborated with Quilts for Comfort, making lap quilts for disabled VETs and honor flights. She also loved working in her beautiful garden.
Ann is survived by her children Andrea (Bernadelli) Harrison (Ron Ballman), Maureen Bernadelli-Suter (Kent), and Peter Bernadelli (Candice). She has five granddaughters and one grandson. She also has three surviving younger sisters Martha Sue Olsen, Meri Kay McDonald, and Nora Lyn Rose.
Ann served the community in many ways, often attending City Council meetings and was an active member of the Buckley Planning Committee. Since 1980,
Ann continued working to fulfill the Foothills Historical Museum’s mission of preserving history. Ann was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
Donations can be made in Ann’s name to Foothills Historical Museum. Private services to be held at a later date.
