With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our cherished Husband, Father and Grandfather,Arlin Myrle Gunderson, who graced this world with his presence on February 1, 1933, in Columbus, North Dakota. On August 6, 2024, Arlin took his final bow, leaving behind a legacy of unmatched dedication, resilience, and love. As we mourn the physical departure of Arlin, we celebrate the remarkable life he led, the countless lives he touched, and the deep footprints he left on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Arlin was a man of many talents and interests. An astute industrial engineer for the US Government, his work ethic, innovative ideas, and tireless dedication were evident in his illustrious career. His professional accomplishments are only surpassed by his personal achievements. A passionate bullseye pistol shooter, Arlin had an uncanny knack for hitting the mark, not only in his favorite pastime but in every aspect of his life. His love for golf was equally compelling. Many will remember his relentless pursuit of the perfect swing, his gracious sportsmanship and his ability to shoot his age. A man of faith, Arlin was an active member of the Wabash Church since 1972, where his devotion and service touched countless lives.
Arlin was a rock of support for his family, a beacon of integrity, and a pillar of strength. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Gunderson; his children: Teri Gunderson, Tim (Kristie) Gunderson, Rob Gunderson (Keri England), Erica (Jamie) Salsbury; his grandchildren: Hunter (Ashley) Gunderson, Makenna Salsbury, Piper Gunderson, Fulton Gunderson and John Salsbury; nephew: Jon (Tammie) Rust; niece: Marla Werner. Arlin was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Hazel Gunderson; his sister, Maxine Rust; and his brother, Laverne Gunderson. Arlin’s love for his family, his unwavering support, and his infectious laughter will forever echo in the hearts of his loved ones.
The memory of Arlin will continue to inspire those he left behind. His legacy is a wonderful treasure and his lessons a compass for the many lives he touched. Let us celebrate Arlin Gunderson’s life and honor his memory together.A memorial Service will be held August 12th at 10:00am at Wabash Presbytery Church, Enumclaw Wa.
