Barbara Jean Allan died July 28, 2014, in Enumclaw, at the age of 88.
She was born July 15, 1926, in Tacoma, and grew up in Everett, Wash. She attended the University of Washington where she met and, after graduating, married Douglas Allan on Aug. 27, 1949. She taught elementary school until she joined her husband in managing the family business. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed reading and displayed exceptional talent in sewing dresses for her daughters.
She is survived by daughters Catherine (Keith) Fallen-Mathews, Mary-Jean (Bill) Dodson, Janet (Rich) Gerlitz and Ginny (Bob) Lillie; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A private interment will take place in Bellingham, Wash.
