Longtime Enumclaw resident Barbara B. Shane, 79, died Feb. 7, 2018, in her home in Kalispell, Montana.
She was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Sept. 20, 1938, and moved to Enumclaw in the early 1960s.
She was a piano teacher and ran Enumclaw Music for 27 years before retiring.
She was known around town for her work with various community and music groups, including the Mount Rainier Christian Center, the Enumclaw Historical Society, the Enumclaw Arts Commission, the Enumclaw Music Teacher Association and the Plateau Piano Trio.
She is survived by her sister Betty (Larry) Jones of Seattle; daughters Susan Shane of Bellingham, Washington, Cindy (Donald) Boose of Ferndale, Washington, and Debby (Joey) Gardner of Kalispell; and grandchildren Vanessa (Luke) Stibbs, Courtney, Caleb, and Anna Boose, and Josiah, Jonathan, David, Jeremiah Gardner.
A service will be held March 3 at 11 a.m. at the Wabash Church with the Rev. Greg Daulton officiating. A reception will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the Mount Rainier Christian Center.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Enumclaw Historical Society.
