Former area resident Bob Parkerson died May 14, 2011, at Whatcom Hospice House in Bellingham, Wash.
He was born in Cumberland on March 15, 1930, to William and Elizabeth Parkerson and graduated from Enumclaw High School Class of 1948. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and lived in California until moving to his daughter’s home in Bellingham late last year. He worked in the Todd Shipyards and then for Campbell’s and Marcos Shipyard in San Diego.
He is survived by daughters Carol Iverson and husband Gordon, Pam Thorson and husband Niels and Toni Parkerson, and son Robert, all of Bellingham; sister Beverly Read of Seattle; brother Andrew of Vista, Calif.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, George, William and Lee and sisters Ann Tost and Elizabeth Tost.
There will be no service. Donations can be made to a favorite charity.
