Buckley resident Joseph Arthur Albert died April 21, 2017.
He was born Sept. 25, 1925, in Auburn to Anthony and Caroline Albert, who settled in Buckley more than 100 years ago. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952 then ran a successful dairy farm. He married Betty in 1952 and they made their home in Buckley for nearly 65 years. He enjoyed traveling and Hawaii was a particular favorite. He was a 50-year member of the Marion Grange, served on the White River School Board and the Soil Conservation Board and was a lifelong member of St. Aloysius Church.
He is survived by wife Betty; children John Albert, Linda (Al) Steiner and Christine (Douglas) Phelps; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life took place at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 27, at St. Aloysius Church, followed by burial at Buckley City Cemetery at 2 p.m.
