Carl M. Erb Jr., 88, of Enumclaw, died Nov. 29, 2017.
He was born Feb. 7, 1929, in Bellingham, Washington, to Carl and Mable Erb. He graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a master’s degree and served as a cryptologist in the U.S. Navy. In his free time he enjoyed traveling, making stops all over the world. He loved boating and could always be found with his kids on his boat. His other hobbies included cooking and square dancing. He especially loved his church.
He is survived by wife Sharol Erb of Enumclaw; sons Chuck Erb of Bonney Lake, Michael Phelps (Debra) of Bothell, Washington, and John Hudson (Shannon) of Metlakatla, Alaska; daughters Naomi Fowler (Brad) of Mount Vernon, Washington, Annette Topham (Bret) of Fort Collins and Rebecca Nichols (David) of Provo, Utah; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Billie Lou Erb.
A funeral service took place Dec. 7 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Enumclaw with burial at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent.
