Carrol Herring, 74, of Buckley died June 28, 2011. He was born June 5, 1937, in Merced, Calif.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and all things outdoors. He loved to travel and was a great softball player. He served in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. He retired from the railroad after many years of service. He was a member of the Buckley Eagles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milford and Helen Herring and sister, Catherine Davis.
He is survived by companion Darlene Herring of the home; sons Douglas Herring of Oregon, Kenneth Herring and wife Kandi of Tennessee, Vernon Herring and wife Kaoru of Japan and Stephen Herring of Oregon; stepchildren, Kathy Garner, Lance McCasland, Denise Aguas and husband Ralph, Richard McCasland and Curtis McCasland and wife Fatima; brother Michael Basaraba of California; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A celebration of life will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 10, at the Buckley Eagles.
