Clifford Halverson

Enumclaw resident Clifford Frederick Halverson, 88, died Dec. 17, 2010.

He was born June 30, 1922, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Roy and Hazel (Haller) Halverson. He worked on the family farm in Greenbush, Minn., before entering the Navy during World War II. He retired from his business as a painting contractor in 1970. He moved to Bonney Lake in 1974 and later to Enumclaw. He loved to do work with his tractor. He was known as a jokester and also for his big laugh and blue eyes.

He is survived by stepdaughters Sandra Meyer and husband John of Costa Rica and Mary-Sharon LeVangie-Ward and husband Corry of Puyallup; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly LeVangie, brother Emry Halverson and sister Betty Halverson.

A graveside service is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, at the Buckley City Cemetery.

Services are by Weeks’ Enumclaw Funeral Home.
