Daniel Layer

Daniel Paul Marvin Layer was born July 1, 1951, in Loma Linda, California.

All are invited to a remembrance gathering for Daniel Paul Marvin Layer, planned for Saturday, March 21, at Enumclaw’s VFW hall.

He was born July 1, 1951, in Loma Linda, California, to Carol and Paul Layer. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on Aug. 27, 1969. During his military service he received a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Accommodation Medal, Combat Infantryman Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. He ended his Army career as a sergeant with 38 paratrooper jumps, retiring in July 1974.

He loved motorcycles, fishing and being outdoors. He had an eye for antiques and enjoyed seeking perfect treasures.

He is survived by father Paul; sisters Cynthia, Maya and Rebecca; son Daniel (Kris); daughter Laura (Bill); three grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
