Ravensdale resident Earl D. Orr, 80, died Jan. 28, 2018, at Tacoma General Hospital.
He was born Nov. 1, 1937, in Proctor, Montana, to the late Frank and Edith (Hansen) Orr. The family soon moved to Concrete, Washington, where he was raised and attended school. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and, following an honorable discharge in 1963, returned to the Skagit Valley working for Western Farmers, later transferring to the plant in Kent. He later worked for Tolt High School in Carnation as a custodian until transferring to the Kent School District where he was a custodian for 26 years. He is remembered as an entertainer, jokester and karaoke singer, entertaining at several venues near his home.
He is survived by daughter Tanya Edgell (David) of Auburn; son Joe Edgell of Ravensdale; brother Richard Orr of Puyallup; sister Joyce Hollis of Cadet, Missouri; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sisters Ilene Carter and Launetta Reece and brothers Arthur, Raymond and Dennis Orr.
Graveside services with military honors took place Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Hamilton Cemetery in Skagit County, with the Rev. Carroll Dennis officiating.
