Elizabeth “Betty” Anne Olson died Dec. 30, 2017, at the age of 92.
She was born March 20, 1925, in Coos Bay, Oregon, to Winona (Smith) and Holger A. Gustafson. She was raised in Ballard, Washington, and graduated from Ballard High School in 1942. On June 14, 1946, she married Orvil S. Olson in Ballard and they made their first home in Renton. In 1954 the family moved to Enumclaw and started a dairy farm, which they sold in 1973. Through the years she worked various jobs, retiring from Rainier School in 1993. She loved her family and enjoyed listening to gospel and country music.
She is survived by sons Stanley (Cindy), Wendell (Jewel) and Grady (Debra); daughters Janice Kecki (Don), Julianne Olson and Joyce Olson; sister Eleanor “Norie” Adams; 16 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Orvil S. Olson on April 22, 2003; daughter Joan Elizabeth Bryant on July 6, 2009; sisters Margaret, Nancy, and Mary; and brother George.
A funeral service took place Friday, Jan. 5, at Northwest Family Church in Auburn. She was buried beside her husband at Enumclaw Evergreen Memorial Park.
