Ernest James Comstock, known to all as Ernie, died Jan. 18, 2020, at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was 76 and most recently resided at Golden Valley Estates senior community in Buckley.
He was born April 30, 1943, in Portland Oregon, to the late Ansel Dow Comstock and Fern Virginia Brockus Comstock. He served in the Army for three years, stationed in Germany with a short time in Vietnam. He was a welder at Boeing, the shipyards and PACCAR. He had raced stock cars at Monroe with his brother in his younger years and enjoyed working with his hands. He took great joy in making items for his grandchildren and spoiling his Maltese pups.
He married Karolyn Ann Cleary on March 1, 1965. They had four children: daughters Tamara and Melody and sons Robert and Kris. He had nine living grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brother Delmer Comstock, sister Patricia Lacey, granddaughter Kristina, grandson Anthony and daughter-in-law Kristy.
Services will take place at 11 a.m. Feb. 14 at Tahoma National Cemetery.
