Frances Lynne Honsowetz was born July 23, 1938 in Tacoma, WA to Frank and Elvera (Larson) Honsowetz. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 31st, 2024 in Buckley, WA. She was preceded in death by both of her parents. She is survived by her sister, Tina Honsowetz of Carbonado, WA and her brother, Jack (Marilynn) Honsowetz of Shoreline, WA.
“Lynne” attended White River High School and graduated in 1956. After graduation, she went to the University of Washington where she received her Bachelor’s Degree. She went on to teach science at Edgewood Junior High School for seven years before joining the Army and serving her country in Vietnam. Her last assignment was at SHAPE in Belgium where she did personnel work. Lynne retired with the rank of Lt. Col.
Lynne enjoyed leadership roles in a plethora of community and philanthropic organizations: she was the Worthy Matron of Eastern Star, the President of the Ida Marge Orthopedic Guild, and served as a clerk of session and dedicated member for over 23 years for the Buckley Community Presbyterian Church.
Graveside and military services will be held at the Buckley Cemetery on Saturday, April 20th at 1pm, reception immediately to follow at the Buckley Community Presbyterian Church.
