Frank Donald (Don) Sharp, 96, of Enumclaw died April 28, 2018.
He was born Jan. 10, 1922, to the late Lewis and Frances Sharp in the small town of Gem, Kansas. He served with the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. Mutual friends introduced him to Doris Buckley in 1943 in Washington, D.C., where she worked for the War Department. Following his return from Europe and the war, the couple were married in 1946 in Buckley. He became an electrician and was a member of Local 46 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He and his wife were longtime members of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Enumclaw. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and anything outdoors. He was active and took daily walks until a short time before his death. He was Boy Scout Master of Troop 422 of Enumclaw and also belonged to VFW Post 1949. He loved to travel and spent time vacationing with his wife in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
He is survived by his sons Del Sharp (Christie) of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Joe Sharp of Snohomish and Richard Sharp (Kellie) of Seattle; daughter Gloria Sharp Schmidt of Bonney Lake; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris, brother Dale and sister Bonita.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 1725 Porter St., Enumclaw.
