Longtime Enumclaw resident Genevieve S. Carpita died Sept. 8, 2019, at her home.
She was born Jan. 23, 1939, in Amboise, France. She moved to the United States in 1965 and to Enumclaw in 1975. She taught French and French customs in a private school for more than 12 years. She loved to knit, read French literature, listen to French music, travel, go to the ocean, and decorate her home. She especially loved her dogs. On April 11, 2007, she married Dan Carpita in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a past member of the Ladies Guild at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She is survived by husband Dan Carpita of Enumclaw; sons Jean Manuel Guillot (Debbie) of Kingwood, West Virginia, and Terrance Faul (Sarah) of Enumclaw; two sisters in France; and two grandchildren.
A funeral service took place at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at the Muckleshoot Pentecostal Church. Burial followed at Enumclaw Evergreen Memorial Park.
