Glenys Ahlers died on May 31, 2018, in her Enumclaw home. She was 74.
She was born Jan. 18, 1944, in Newport Monmouthshire, South Wales, England. Her family moved to the United States and back to England four times before she was 13. They settled in Seattle, she graduated in 1962 from Franklin High School, was married shortly thereafter and had four children. In September 1977, a few months after her divorce, she married Alvin Ahlers of Enumclaw.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Alvin Ahlers of Enumclaw; son Donald Icenogle of Seattle; daughters Sonia Wattenbarger of Redmond, Washington, and Donna Parkhurst of Cle Elum, Washington; and stepchildren Kathleen Korsgard of Enumclaw, Annette Ahlers of Culver City, California, Jayne Booth of Los Gatos, California, and Alan Ahlers of Renton, Washington.
She was preceded in death by daughter Dawn Minnich.
A memorial service took place June 10 at the Auburn Seventh-day Adventist Church.
