Gordon Allpress died March 10, 2019, at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was 79.
He was raised in Startup, Washington, and graduated from Sultan High School in 1957. He married Audrey (Brokofsky) in 1960 and they lived in California, where he served in the Navy from 1957-61.
Following his discharge, the couple returned to Washington, settling in Everett where he worked for Goldfinch Brothers Paint Store. They raised two boys in Renton, where he lived much of his life. He worked in the food service industry for years and, after retirement, moved to Buckley in 2005. He was an avid golfer, longtime member at Lake Wilderness Golf Club and loved fishing and watching sports. He attended Abundant Life Community Church in Orting during his last 15 years.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Audrey; sons Kevin (Anne-Marie) and Scott; three grandchildren and one great-grandson.
A celebration of his life is planned for 4 p.m. Friday, March 22, at Rainier Christian Fellowship in Buckley. In lieu of flowers, he requested donations to be made to Abundant Life’s All-In Building-Fund at alccorting.com.
