Enumclaw resident Harmina Hogerhuis, 84, died Dec., 9, 2014.
She was born Sept. 23, 1930, in Santa Monica, Calif., the first child born to David and Grace Rienstra. She married Dave Hogerhuis on Sept. 10, 1949, in Gardena, Calif. They were married for 57 years. They moved to Enumclaw in 1965 when they purchased a dairy farm on the outskirts of town. She was a member of the King-Pierce Dairy Women and the Osceola Women’s Club and attended Calvary Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir for many years.
She is survived by children Judy Prince and husband Ed, Dan Hogerhuis and wife Donna and Gary Hogerhuis and wife Susan; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Dave Hogerhuis on Nov. 29, 2006, son Michael Hogerhuis on April 5, 2010, and brother George Rienstra on March 6, 2006.
A celebration of life service took place Dec. 12 at the Wilkeson Eagles.
